I took Ray to speech class today and had a hard time finding a parking spot as I hadn't realized that the school where he has speech was a voting place for people in that neighborhood.
On our way home, we stopped at our voting place. It was really easy and fast! We got in line behind about 5 others (would have been none in line if our last name started with M-Z). Took a few minutes and then got our ballot. In all, it only took us about 15 minutes total.
Way better than I was expecting :)
I've had this Obama song in my head all day

At our polling place this morning, our line (with the M's) was the longest! :)
Go Obama!!
Yippee!! No day after (month after)election depression this year...at least for us. I have true compassion for those who do have it, though, because I've been there ...more times than I cared to be!
CHANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm surprisningly not as "pumped" as I thought I would be. Well, I am very happy, I just wasn't jumping up and down like I thought I would be.
Though, last night it really brougt me to tears- just the joy when I saw the coverage of him walking up to the podium for his first real official press conference. I just feel so good that this is "my president"! I haven't felt this way in a long time, likely not ever. This must be what it felt like for those who voted in JFK or stumped for RFK, McGovern or where working hard for change and on the cusp of historical change in social structure or laws!
I agree "justme..." I do feel for those who feel like things are turned upside down because the person going to the helm of our country is not the one they want. But, I truly beleive Obama is all of "our's".
Unlike the Bush "mandate" to do whatever he wants=
